The updated Voigtlander 40mm f/1.2 VM Nokton II Aspherical Lens is a fast manual focus lens for full-frame rangefinder cameras, which employ the Leica M (VM) mount. This next-gen. version refines the original’s compact, high-speed formula, reducing weight through internal updates, while featuring the same optical design for outstanding image quality. A black filter ring and compatibility with the new LH-14 reversible lens hood (sold separately) offer subtle but useful improvements compared to the previous model.

The prime has a bright f/1.2 aperture and a classic 40mm focal length, which provides a natural perspective very similar to human vision, with enhanced subject separation and excellent low-light performance. The optical construction is made up of 8 elements in 6 groups, including aspherical elements to minimise distortion and maintain sharpness across the frame. A 10-blade diaphragm produces pleasing, rounded bokeh with the ability to experiment with creative depth-of-field.

At just 267g and made entirely from metal, the Nokton II is perfect for Leica’s M-mount bodies. It also has a precision rangefinder coupling mechanism, which offers reliable manual focus. Updated Mechanical Build

As with other Nokton lenses, the 40mm II is built with a solid, full-metal housing.
