The Voigtlander Nokton Classic 35mm f/1.4 II VM is the Single Coated Lens for , which captures classical tones.

The soft beautiful bokeh of the original has been retained with this updated mark II lens when the aperture is fully open and it delivers extremely sharp rendering at any aperture. The NOKTON classic 35mm F1.4 II VM has been updated for digital cameras with tweaks to the optical formula with the aim of improving focus accuracy when using live view to focus. The new lens features the same highly accurate focusing cam as its predecessor for reliable focusing from maximum aperture using an optical rangefinder.

Spherical aberrations have been retained to remain true to the original character of the lens which is the appeal found on many .

Multi coating delivers neutral colour rendering whereas the  provides more natural tones.
