It is designed for digital and film rangefinder cameras, and is Voigtlander’s highest resolution 28mm lens to date. The optical design features apochromatic colour correction within an advanced optical formula, which delivers exceptional sharpness, clarity, and colour accuracy across the frame.

A floating element design delivers consistent optical performance even at close distances, while a compact 50mm barrel keeps handling easy and balanced on smaller rangefinder bodies.

Two double-sided aspherical elements and five abnormal partial dispersion elements work to eliminate optical aberrations, while premium lens coatings help to reduce flare and ghosting. The metal focus ring and precision-machined helicoid offer a rewarding manual focus experience, and the built-in rangefinder coupling enables accurate focusing from 0.7m to infinity.

A helicoid extends for manual focus down to 0.5m, and the premium lens includes a specially designed metal petal-style hood that can be reverse mounted for storage. The 28mm f/2 APO-Lanthar features an advanced optical design with 12 elements in 8 groups, including two double-sided aspherical and five abnormal partial dispersion elements. This achieves Voigtlander’s apochromatic standard, virtually eliminating chromatic aberration for high-resolution, colour-accurate results. The floating element ensures consistent image quality from minimum focus  through to infinity.

Measuring just 50mm long and weighing only 265g, this lens combines portability with high build quality. The precision-machined all-metal housing includes a diamond-pattern focus ring and smooth helicoid mechanism, for a tactile, rewarding manual focusing experience. It is optimised for rangefinders, with coupling from 0.7m to infinity, and allows close shooting down to 0.5m via the extended helicoid.

Apochromatic (APO) Performance

Like its 35mm and 50mm APO-Lanthar siblings, this wide 28mm lens delivers outstanding colour correction and optical precision. It is suitable for modern high-resolution sensors as well as for film photography. Accessories
