An audio icon is reborn – the Shure SM7dB has the sound you’ve loved for years, but with the convenience of a built-in preamp providing all the extra gain you’ll ever need. The latest iteration of this legendary XLR dynamic microphone makes it easier for podcasters, streamers and musicians to get perfect vocals from any recording setup.

The SM7dB has a built-in Shure-designed preamp, giving it enough oomph to work with any XLR interface. Providing up to +28 dB of gain, the preamp preserves the mic’s frequency response for that iconic sound. All you need is an interface or mixer offering +48V of phantom power to operate the preamp. Don’t need the preamp? Flick the switch to the left to “bypass” and get original SM7B performance.
