Samyang XP 85mm f/1.2 Lens for Canon EF Mount Summary
The Samyang XP 85mm f/1.2 Lens is from a series of Samyang manual focus ‘Expert Lens’ (XP) designed for full frame Canon DSLR cameras (which can also be used on APS-C cameras). Since releases Samyang XP lenses have collected a number of industry awards including the prestigious reddot 2018 award, iF Design awardand Good Design award. With an ultra bright f/1.2 aperture the XP 85mm excels in low light, favoured for it’s accurate pin sharp manual focus-only characteristics. The short telephoto focal distance which the prime brings is a classic portrait lens and can also be used for other short telephoto subjects including detail shots. The minimum focus distance is 0.8m with a x 0.13 magnification ratio.
This XP 85mm f/1.2 is designed by  for  users and is capable of an unprecedented resolution of more than 50 megapixelsfor still photography and 8K for video. The manual focus lens enables you to capture those dramatic moments with perfect image quality thanks to the bright f/1.2 aperture.
With over 40 years of research and development in optics, Samyang integrates the essence of history and introduces a signature lens line-up. It has unprecedented resolving power, matched to 50 megapixel photos and 8K video productions. The resolving power contains abundant pixel information, allowing photographers the freedom in post-production to create a unique image of their own. It enables you to capture life-long memories using the beautiful Bokeh, out-focusing and starburst effect to create unforgettable images.
The f/1.2 maximum aperture makes this 85mm by far the brightest lens in existing full frame DSLR lenses. It gathers light like no other and helps secure the fastest possible shutter speed or de-focus everything but the subject. There are ten optical elements in seven groups, incorporating one aspherical lens and two high refractive lenses. The aspherical lens minimises aberration and unnecessary light dispersion and two high refractive lenses effectively adjust the path of light and deliver maximum amount to the sensor for a clear and vibrant image. This optimal performance creates astounding image quality from the centre to corner of the image. Also, the minimised aberrations enhance clarity, creating an even more impressive image than your eyes can actually see.
An aluminium-alloy metal body has been adopted for maximum durability. With a sleek, yet unprecedented design with flowing curves, this signature line-up is a one-of-a-kind lens. Handling and ergonomics have been optimised with the lens having a maximum diameter of 95mm. Also, flare and ghost effects are well controlled, thanks to ultra multi-coatings resulting in an excellent all round  suited to advanced enthusiasts and professional users. We also have the  to complement this model.
